VINTAGE Child Guidance Add-A-Count Add-A-Count Scale was a revolutionary educational math toy in the 1950's.  This back-to-basics toy works perfectly, and is a powerful hands-on learning tool for young children who are learning numerical value and simple math facts.
See Photo #2:  Put the numbers 7 & 5 on one side of the scale, and the numbers 9 & 3 on the other.  The scale indicates they both add up to the same value because the scale says they "weigh" the same.
