This part is no longer available from Homelite Service Parts.  Egad!  What to do?  By popular request from our customers, we have retooled a drop-in replacement kit, using upgraded components and materials to address the most common failure modes and maximize brush life.  We incorporated every trick and upgrade we could think of into these brushes - this should be the last set you will ever have to buy for your generator!
These brushes are drop-in replacements for Homelite P/N's:  A-03035, 02664 & UP03736.  These are new production.
Improvements:
1. We've replaced the soft (low cost) graphite mater
ial
used in the original brushes
with a
high
-percentage copper-impregnated material typically used in only the
highest-end applications.
2. We've replaced the failure-prone "cortem
®" spring wit
h a copper shunt
to carry
the current.
The OEM brushes were notorious for the springs overheating and
collapsing - which leads to cat
astrophic failures.
3. We've used a free-floating spring with a very flat "spring rate" which results in a
more
constant spring pressure over the life of the brush.  It also eliminates a very
common
failure in the OEM brush
es where the
"cortem
®" spring breaks free from
the carbon
brush.
4.
All of this results in a brush system that is much lower in resistance
, which means
better
residual voltage, lower running temperatures and longer life.
This kit contains two brushes and a retainer tool.  What's more, this upgraded, drop-in replacement kit comes with a 4-page Full-color Technical Bulletin covering dis-assembly techniques, key inspection points, installation of the new brushes, test and trouble-shooting!
