In 1880, the first elephant from Margarete Steiff 's workshop, sold as a toy, marked the birth of plush toys around the world. The moment establishes countless children's dreams: The animals become the focus of children's imaginations. They invite you to cuddle, act as companions, consolation donors and idea givers. Millions of friends for life have been going from Giengen an der Brenz all over the world since then. You will experience personal stories and create lasting memories. We are celebrating this anniversary in 2020 with the 140 years collection: All of its representatives are limited to 1,880 pieces and bear the special Elefäntle logo “140 years of Steiff ”. This white wool felt elephant reveals its sense of the original both in the proudly raised S-shaped trunk and on the neat saddlecloth. There the initials "AS" document that Anna Steiff the first elephant from her sister-in-law Margarete. The removable cover is attached by hand with 14 black pins, black glass bead eyes form the matching counterpart.
