Description
Up for auction is thisframed and matted wood & glass frame
of
JOHN WATERHOUSE'S "Pre-Raphaelites"
pri
nt which looks a lot like
"Days of Camelot" print w/ a gallant knight and a fair lady...perhaps Lancelot & Queen Guinevere
of King Arthur or from the
Renaissance / Middle-Ages / "Outlaw King" era
,
but could be any Knight with any princess on a horse. Nicely framed and matted under glass and measures overall approximately 11.25" x 9.25"(the image itself is approximately 5.25" x 4")
. We purchased this because it appeared to be telling a love story between two people who fit the image of Sir Launcelot & Queen Guinevere. Neat for Ren Faire fans.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
BUYERS are automatically TAXED a sales tax
by eBay purchases
w/out the permission of the sellers. This has been imposed on these "electronic yard sales"(auctions) despite having
NO storefront and most whom have full-time jobs off-line).
The above is being imposed by each of the applicable State Governments and was enabled by the US Legislators. RESEARCH
the
June 21, 2018 ruling in which the US Supreme Court overturned the 1992 Quill Corp. vs. North Dakota ruling which held that internet sellers must have a physical presence in a state before they are required to collect sales tax in that state.
MAKES sense...what
doesn't
make sense is that it was overturned by the US Supreme Court. So, that is where this coming from and
eBay is gladly enforcing it. T
here is NO way for sellers to turn-off the sales tax as eBay alone controls it.
So with all that considered eBayers beware as sellers can not predict what your imposed sales tax will be before the purchase. It would be whatever your individual sales tax % is in your
declarer
state of residence.
Rant portion...
t
he used items here and all used items have been taxed again and again and again...and the states have no part in this online auction, but will benefit form what we the little people generate.
I have consequently scaled my sales WAY back.
Ebay already gets paid by sellers from the various fees. That much is a trade-off, but it is absurd that our citizens are compelled to take part in it. Its not necessarily even the amount of money taken in sales tax as much is the principle of idea of them taking it from us. How many times do people have to pay taxes on the same, used items before enough is enough? I am a buyer as much as I am a seller and so I too have paid it when purchasing items. I cringe
every time
, but seems a necessary evil if I want the convenience of buying things quick. However, we eBayers are consequently looking for alternative means to sell our extra items and encourage anyone else still reading this to consider the same thing, including non-electronic venues. Until then...I remain your most humble selling servant.
