Grateful Dead Vintage T-Shirt 1991 Tour Boston Garden Liquid Blue XL EUC Tie Dye. Shipped free with USPS First Class.Condition: This very rare vintage Grateful Dead t-shirt is in excellent used condition, having only ever been worn and washed a few times. It does not have any flaws; no holes or rips, no stains or discoloration, no odors! This shirt has been neatly folded then sealed in a large zip-lock bag stored in a sealed plastic tote with other collected GD tour tees for decades! It is in incredible condition!
Size: Tagged as an XL, but I would call this a large or a smaller XL going by it’s measurements. This tee measures 22 1/2 inches across the chest and 29 inches in length! It’s not that this tee has shrunk, you just sometimes got some off sized tees with Liquid Blue back in the day, especially tie dyes!!
Color: This tee is a Liquid Blue made tie dyed shirt of blue, purple, black, and an orangish-yellowish dyed colors with awesome silk-screened graphics on both the front and back of the tee. This GD tee is dates, year, and venue specific! The front shows a basketball playing skeleton with the year 91 on their uniform and shoes. Behind, is a Steal Your Face made of wood to look like the old Celtic’s basketball court of the Boston Garden! Very cool image! The artwork is by Chris Pinkerton (photo 7) and the shirt is copyrighted 1991 by GDM! The back shows the 1991 Boston run of show dates drawn in the shape of a ball spinning on the finger of a skeleton’s hand…again, just really, really cool art! The 1991 Fall Tour run at the Boston Garden dates of September 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, and 26 make up the spinning ball which has lightning wrapped around to give it that spinning look! Super cool design!! For a little trivia, in 1995 people had already ordered and received their mail order tickets for the fall tour, including the run at The Garden. But, sadly, Jerry moved on from this life on August 9th during the break between summer and fall tour. Since these tickets were no longer useable, GD mail order ticket folks allowed us to send them back for a refund, and those awesome folks returned the tickets with a stamp of Jerry on the back of them. Another really cool thing about those particular tickets…the Boston Garden was slated to be taken down, as it was constructed in 1928 (it had the original name of “Boston Madison Square Garden”)…anyhow, since that run would have been the last Boston Garden run for the Grateful Dead, the last night’s mail order ticket had the lyric snippet from Samson and Delilah “We’re Gonna Tear This Old Building Down”. I still have my tickets, and I sure do wish it was another Boston run I could have been at!! What a party it always was at The Garden!! This is a must have tee for any Grateful Dead fan, or vintage GD t-shirt collectors!! It is awesome!!
