The Legendary ! Rick Griffin " G.D. Skull & Crossbones " Art ! from the 1980-1981 Grateful Dead Tour Program ! - featured on a Very-Rare ! 1983 Grateful Dead ( GDP ) Shirt !!! ... in " Baby Blue " !!!!!
Grateful Dead & Rick Griffin Fans ! ... Wow !!! - as this one here, is basically a whole Lifestyle ! all in itself.  A Truly-Amazing ! piece of Vintage Early-1980's Grateful Dead History !  In fact, as you may already well know - this is the " G.D. Skull & Crossbones " Art by the one & only Rick Griffin ! was so-favored as the 1970's had just turned into the 1980's ! -- that this design image was selected as the Official Cover ! of the 1965-1980 " 15th Anniversary " Tour Program ! of the Grateful Dead !  And, this was indeed such a popular item with Dead Fans, that this Program was sold not only in the 1980 Touring-Year of the Grateful Dead, but also in 1981 too !  Just this Quintessential G.D. Image featured Big & Boldly ! on the Cover of this now Classic ! Grateful Dead Program, with a Black Background !  Then too, this design was soon featured on the Ultimate ! American iconic-style of Rock & Roll ... the Tour Shirt !  This image was sold on T-Shirts of various colors & styles from 1980 to 1984 - and this one offered here is a Rare! Vintage Shirt made for the 1983 & 1984 Tours too - with an Amazing !! " Baby Blue " background - that is just so incredibly complements this design.  There were Black, Grey, Light Tan, and this Baby Blue ! background Shirts issued - and as the photos provided here very-nicely show ... this Light Baby Blue Color is simply Choice !!  Designed by Griffin in '80, this magnificent & spooky-cool Grateful Dead logo features a subtle - yet still bold Skull ! in the top-background, with two White ! & Bright ! Crossbones !! ... with a Phoenix Bird type image rising from a Heart & Roses ! image -- with " G " on one side, and " D " on the other ... Truly ! one of - if not " The " Quintessential Grateful Dead Image, topped probably only by the Steal Your Face ! - Bertha ! - and maybe too ... Good Ol' Grateful Dead in Red White & Blue !  But ... at the same time - it is pretty tough to claim that really any ! design actually ' tops ' this one ... as the detail, color, spacing, shading/depth & overall design is just about as Eye-Catching ! as any Logo-type image can get.  Plus ... this one simply Explodes ! off of the Light Blue ... virtually Launching ! itself - to all those that look on.  It would be a hard pressed attempt really, to have a Vintage Rock & Roll Tee make much bigger, or better of a ' statement ' than this one here !  But, then again ... as we all well know - this is Rick Griffin !!! that we are talking about ... the 1969 through 1990 Art Design Master ! for the Good Ol' Grateful Dead !  So I here invite you to wear this one with some serious G.D. As this is a lightly ( barely ! ) used vintage clothing item that has been well taken care of, here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection :
>>> a medium sized hole, and adjacent tiny/small hole cluster-area right collar (photos #6 & #7).
>>> a tiny pinhole on the top left shoulder (photos #8 & #9) .
>>> some fading/light-discoloration shoulder-areas and back left side (photos #6 through #12).
