Grateful Dead Belt Buckle " Tour-Issued " by Grateful Dead Productions ... in '78 !!  An Absolutely-Beautiful ! & Eye-Catching Grateful Dead " Bertha " Belt Buckle ... featuring the Legendary ! Alton Kelley & Stanley Mouse " Bertha " Skull & Roses image engraved on the face ( Originally of 1966 Grateful Dead FD-26 Poster Fame ! ) -- and the Historic ! Bob Thomas & Owsley Stanley ' Steal Your Face ! ' Skull & 13-Point Lightning Bolt image on the back.  This Belt Buckle is the Vintage Original 1978 " L-200 " version that was sold at Grateful Dead Concerts in the Late 1970's Era.  And ... it is very-important to note that this item is indeed the Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) 1978 Grateful Dead Productions ( GDP, Inc. ) issue >>> ( " T.M. Grateful Dead Productions " / " (c) Kelley & Mouse G.D.P. 1978 " / " L-200 " / " Made In USA " ) engraved.  There have been some similar counterfeit reproductions ( fakes ) of this Vintage-Original item circulated, and unfortunately ... many of them I've seen are very similar to this Vintage-Original.  However, there are very effective method to identify the difference between the " Vintage-Originals " - and the ' Reproductions ' ... as the secret is in the " Butterfly " shaped Belt Loop, and the " L-200 " stamp itself.  On the Vintage-Originals ( This One ! ) the L-200 stamp is clean & even in its font all the way across the entire L-200 stamp ... and, on the ' Repros ' - the L-200 font looks uneven, to different degrees, and actually appears ' over-embedded ' and uneven in the reproduction casting process.  And, the unique " Butterfly " Belt Loop speaks for itself - being " Butterfly " shaped, and not ' Straight '.  The ' Weight ' is slightly different as well, as the Vintage-Originals are actually a bit heavier.  But, obviously ... the " Visual " is the important early-detector, and especially when purchasing one of these item in today's cyberspace world.  This one, obviously is the " Real-Deal " from 1978 - and the multiple photos & close-up photos provided ... give you a very nice view of it.  There is really no-better way to show " Where You ! Stand " than wearing & showing-off this 1978 GDP " Bertha ! This Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) 1978 Grateful Dead " Bertha ! " Skull & Roses and ' Steal Your Face ! ' Belt Buckle ( T.M. Grateful Dead Productions / (c) Kelley & Mouse - L-200 - Made In USA ) is in Very Good condition.  This Belt Buckle has been lightly-moderately used/worn as a Belt Buckle, and has been " Collected-Only " for years ( recent decade(s) ).  There is light-medium surface/edge wear scratches, some light dings/indentations, discolorations & variances in the surface finish - along with some oxidation & natural aging signs present as well.  For a lightly used ( & mostly " Collected " ) item - this one is in nice condition ( very good ), with the overall condition & integrity of this item being quite impressive - with little significant wear present on the extended Bertha face & Roses.  Just-enough ' Patina ' for Righteous-Character !!!  Please see all photos provided.  Photos included are of the actual item you will receive.  Thanks ! ... & Enjoy !!!
