You are buying one (1) 2" x 3" zip-lock bag containing approximately 15 ml.of sand sample collected by a friend from the world famous
McAbee Beach ~ Cannery Row ~ Monterey Bay, California
.  This beach was used by Portuguese whalers during the 1800's to launch their boats into Monterey Bay until their whaling was stopped in the late 1800's.
Cannery Row was the setting for
"Grapes of Wrath" author John Steinbeck's
1945 novel
"Cannery Row"
and where he also lived and spent a great deal of his time.
The World Famous
Monterey Bay Aquarium
is also located adjacent to this beach and is the site of one of the finest aquariums and sea life attractions in the world and the setting for several movies (
Star Trek
) and nature documentaries (
'Big Blue Live'
).
Currently Kelly teaches 5'th grade and has a special "sand unit" for her kids where she shows them sand samples mounted on slides under a microscope from over 400 locations around the world. This is one of the kid's favorites as this sand comes from one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. Very Limited supply.
