    Maker
    : The beauty of this wonderful yellow quatrefoil bowl makes its extensive and obvious damage all the more heartbreaking.
    It has a variation of the blue Augustus Rex mark of Germany's incomparable Helena Wolfsohn, widely recognized as one of the world's great porcelain firms. This mark is often copied and this bowl has not been authenticated.
    Design
    : Panels of hand painted multicolored flowers alternate with those of a courting couple in a classic Dresden quatrefoil design.
    Size
    : The bowl is 9 5/8 inches long and 8 1/2 inches wide. It weighs 1 pound 3 ounces.
    Condition
    : By any measure, this bowl has suffered significant damage.
    A major break extends across the entire length. It appears to have originated with a small chip on the edge.
    It was poorly and very obviously repaired, and although the repair is more apparent on the reverse, it is clearly visible on the front as well.
    There is wear to the edges and parts of the design, and a strip of some sort of tape attached to the back.
    These damages are shown in the photos.
    And yet despite them, the bowl remains very beautiful.
    There may be other small damages so please check
    all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
