Antique Bronze Fire Alarm Bell & Mount 11.5" - Fire Station, School, Commercial Building??
Large, great old Barn Find!
Found this one stored in a barn loft, many years ago, so I do not know its origin.  The barn was part of an estate belonging to a retired firefighter, so it was likely a Fire Bell at a local Fire Station, School or Commercial Building, at some point.  It has been on a shelf in my workshop ever since.
- The bell looks to be either Bronze, Brass or Brass Plated.  The wall mount is Cast Iron and there is an "H20" mark cast in it.  I found no other Maker's Marks, label or branding on the piece, so the best guess is that it's from 1900 to 1930 in date.
- The wall mount casting is approximately 11.25" in diameter and has 3 mounting holes in the center.  It appears it was originally painted green, but has some other colors on it too.  The bell is approx 11.5" in diameter and is held to the wall mount with a large acorn style nut, as shown.  Still has a good tone to it.
Pre-owned Bell and Mount, as shown.  Brass shows wear consistent with age and use.  Painted mount shows wear to the finish and has had paint splatter on it over the years.  No striker/clapper hardware is included.
