6.5cm SMITHSONITE - Canary Yellow! 153g, *Wenshan, China*

Description

This smithsonite comes from a relatively new discovery in Wenshan, China. Smithsonite comes in all shades and colors but the specimens collectors most desire are the ones whose color is the very brightest and most standout within its hue. This is absolutely that. There are a lot of 'yellow' smithsonites out there, but very few (especially at a reasonable price point) are *this* yellow. It's a canary yellow and it absolutely gorgeous. The video shows it best!
It's a weighty piece too, for its size (153g or between 5 and 6 oz.) Much of that is because, if you look at how it grew around its host rock, it grew really thick! This is visible in one of the pictures. Oh, and it fluoresces, too! Especially some of the older 'layers' as seen in the pics. Very attractive!
This is a special piece, so if you're a fan of smithsonites, or just minerals that represent the best of their color, this is a chance to get one of the distinctively better pieces from this discovery at a very reasonable price!
